Here we are fixin to head out to work some sheep. Robert got into the sheep business about a year ago...I really thinks he likes them better than cattle. We keep them at the ranch in Sterling City where Robert grew up. That ranch has been in the family for 100 years. It is a special place and we love getting to be there. The ranch we live on has been in the family for about 30 to 40 years. We will be starting our winter round up next week. This is where they work the calves. I will be cooking for the cowboys. Mom usually is a huge help but she has been in the hospital for the last week so pretty sure she won't be helping this time. It is so fun watching the kids ride. They are growing more and more confident each time we go out. I am so humbled by God's amazing love for me...He has blessed me so!

The Joys of Country Living

There is no better place on earth than the country to raise a family...well for us anyway. Just yesterday my sweet 8 year old Rachel was out branding the heifers with her dad. Not just watching but actually branding them. We had some excitement when a cow was delivering breech...It was wild. This was Ben's first experience with seeing the process and all he could do was gag. It was funny! He decided real quick he wanted to go on up to Pap's house. Riley has been on the hunt for the big 10 point we have been seeing around...he got a shot off but missed him. He did hit a big hog today...in his words he was pumped.
Here we are in front of our garden. Robert loves to plant a huge garden and I am learning to love canning it.

Here's a picture of my cuties. Riley is 11, Rachel is 9, and Ben is 5. They are my greatest joy and sometimes my greatest challenge.
Okay, I decided that it was high time I got into this high tech communication. I think you all will get a kick out of reading some of the daily hoopla that goes on here in the middle of no where. I truly love the life that my sweet family gets to live here out on the ranch. Most days life goes by with little more than just a few wind gust, but there are times when it blows full force. And I ain't just talkin about the wind.
